It's taken over a week to recover and one of our riders has been pretty bedridden since (we were that committed), but we did it.

2,400 miles covered, then the 24 hour race done (42nd out of 160 in our interestingly titled 'open men' category).  Almost £3000 raised for charity (and still growing - come on you can still contribute if you haven't yet).   A big thanks once again to our main sponsors Saab.

See the highs and lows of the race on Flickr.

After many years searching for fame whilst undertaking various Performing Arts courses and following a short stint within TV Production; Lorna somehow fell into Events which then lead rather seamlessly into her first marketing agency role. She has worked within Marketing for just over five years, being nurtured by the best within a number of successful growing agencies.

Everyone needs a bit of culture in their life though right, so after much deliberation Lorna felt it was time to fulfil her lifetime longing for a bit of travel and in November last year made the bold decision to head to Sydney in search of work. After travelling the east coast of Australia for three weeks she had well and truly been hit by the travelling bug and decided to continue her cultural search within South East Asia for another three months. She arrived home in July ready for a fresh start and came across The Base One website - needless to say she got in touch and just weeks into her new role she says: "I am loving it!"

Lorna started with Base One on the 17 August.

Over 10 years fully integrated agency marketing experience across B2C & B2B sectors. Beverley's specialist subject is definitely B2B. She's had the pleasure of working with a wide range of clients who market anything from Large Enterprise Data Storage Systems, BlackBerry's, Private Jets, right through to Channel Marketing Rexel stationery! Through the years she has had the opportunity to take part in Pan-European & Worldwide campaigns. Marketing is what she loves and agencies are where it's at for her.

Two years ago Beverley travelled the world on her own. Ideally she'd like to go to the gym 5 days a week but achieves 4 (Fridays are for the pub). Happiest when curled up on the sofa watching X Factor or knee deep in mud at a weekend music festival.

Joining Base One on 9th June 2009 Beverly says of Base One "this place is fun, vibrant, inspirational and incredibly educational in terms of helping to develop my career. I'm very much enjoying being part of Base One."
